An incredibly rare pair of large (12") Staffordshire dogs with children. These are so impressive and such a beautifully painted pair from the 19th century.
They are in great condition - there is a very faint hairline along the back of one, and both have some firing flaws around the neckline, which would have occurred during manufacture. Both have some paint loss and crazing commensurate with age.
